A year of lockdowns

The year of 2020 was a year unlike any other. We have been forced into a new kind of living; the bustle of city life seems a thing of the past. I decided to walk more when the first lockdown happened in march 2020. During these morning walks I discovered another side to Oslo, away from the tall buildings and streets, the fjord opens up to amazing skies and forests with tiny meandering paths lay before me, waiting to be discovered! With the neighbours dog for company, I walked listening to nature and bathing in the forests natural light and sounds. I breathed it all in and this is what I have learnt from this year of lockdowns; to slow down, tread undiscovered paths and look around me more to really appreciate all there is right at my doorstep.

For walks in winter, I recommend layering up with wool and sturdy but comfy shoes. As the saying goes: there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing. Its free and its available to all who enjoy the outdoors.
