At Oslo Akupunkturklinikk we offer the traditional treatment cupping, also known as cupping therapy. It, is an alternative medical practice that involves placing cups on the skin to create a suction. This technique is believed to promote the flow of "qi" (energy) in the body and to stimulate the flow of blood, thereby improving overall health and well-being. The cups used in hijama can be made of materials such as glass, bamboo, or silicone and are typically placed on certain acupuncture points or areas with muscle tension. The suction created by the cups is believed to draw out toxins, reduce pain, and alleviate various ailments such as headaches, muscle soreness and digestive imbalance. It is a traditional practice that has been used for centuries in different cultures around world. Cupping has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for pain relief. Avoid eating a heavy meal at least 2 hours before the session. It is recommended to have a light meal or snack beforehand to avoid feeling lightheaded during the treatment.
